As a unique concept in Chinese medicine, DaoDi is a term that lacks a perfect English translation. The word ‘Dao’ was originally used to describe districts in the Chinese empire, similar to the word ‘province’. The word ‘Di’ relates to soil, geography and landforms, so the concept loosely translates to geo or geo-authentic. The concept dates back many centuries in China to herbal drugs that denote the best quality.
Real Mushroom, Scientifically Proven
A mushroom has three distinct stages to its life cycle: spores, mycelium, and fruiting body. Each of our pure mushroom supplements contains only 100 percent mushroom fruiting bodies and nothing else—no fillers, starch, grains, or mycelium—to offer you the strongest wellness support. Many companies use mycelium in their formulas, a part of the mushroom that simply is not as powerful, as it contains less active beneficial phytochemicals. (One exception: Erinacines is extracted from lion's mane mycelium, it's a much more potent brain stimulator)
Functional mushroom benefits are derived from their active compounds, which are found in abundance in the mushroom (fruiting body) itself, and less so in the mycelium. The most important of the key compounds in fungi are called beta-glucans, and they offer a host of health benefits.
Current research shows that beta-glucans' most important benefit to our health is to modulate the immune system. Additionally, they can help regulate blood sugar, improve feelings of fatigue, and increase overall endurance. In some cases, beta-glucans can have a positive effect on malignant conditions based on their ability to increase certain immune cells that increase autophagy.
Every batch of products we use goes through lab testing. We test for heavy metals and biological contamination, to ensure the purity of our products. We also check the concentration of active compounds. (such as the contents of β-glucans are determined by the Megazyme method)
